Easter Rising began with the common love of music between friends. Over the years, members have added and faded away, but one thing remains: Communio. Our shows are not built around traditional performance or glory-seeking. Every time we play together is an opportunity to share our friendships and passions not only with each other, but with those listening, watching, & dancing.
To the band, good music takes a moral stand for beauty, authenticity and solidarity. It is a rejection of radical autonomy in favor of radical communio. Good music is not about who can play the fastest or the best, but who plays with the most meaning. Music is more than a hobby. In its truest form, music becomes an opportunity for gathering, sharing, and growing in our lives with each other – or in other words, Communio. We hope you come share in our experience!
